Chrysler Overdrive Unit IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place the overdrive in a vertical position in a vise or workbench slot with the unit facing upward for access to the direct clutch hub. The unit should NOT be supported by the output shaft. 2. Determine the correct thickness overdrive piston thrust plate as follows: A: Position a flat bar across the face of the overdrive case as shown. B: Measure the distance to the clutch hub thrust bearing seat at four points, 90 degrees apart (be sure to subtract the thickness of the bar). Average the four measurements by adding them together and dividing by four. C: Select and install the required thrust plate
