What does SHIFT RITE do?
The harness contains micro-electronic circuitry that delays the application of the torque converter clutch (TCC) until fourth (overdrive) gear (or a higher speed on TH125C (3T490)). By delaying the lockup of the torque converter, torque multiplication and vehicle performance are increased. The TCC is still applied for maximum fuel economy. Complete computer control is maintained and does not affect exhaust emission. SHIFT RITE is legal in all 50 states and complies with CARB order D-345 and D-345-1.
Is SHIFT RITE easy to install?
Yes. Simply unplug the existing wiring from the transmission or transaxle and plug the harness between the existing wiring and the transmission or transaxle. The TH125C harness also requires the simple installation of a furnished pressure switch.
What is the SHIFT RITE tester?
The tester is a tool that plugs into the transmission and if the 4th gear pressure switch on some transmissions is normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC). The tester uses a red and green light to indicate possible faults in the TCC circuit and helps in the selection of the proper harness.
